Day 22: Thankful for Spirit of Thanksgiving

wrote 11-25-11:  SPIRIT OF THANKSGIVING

For some this is a sad time for you
Remembering those who we have lost
Some act happy while others shed a tear
Because MEMORIES just cannot have a cost

This is a day we are supposed to share a THANKSGIVING
Whether it be with friends or family
This is a day we are supposed to give THANKS for those LIVING
And were able to share this day with you and me

On some tables there may not be alot
But they share what they do have
This warm feeling you have cannot be bought
And it becomes the best time you've ever had

On some's tables there is for many more than enough food
That everyone gets to take home to go paltes
The food was cooked with loving care just for you
And we cherish the joyful look on your faces

For 2011 years dinner there was smoked and oven-cooked turkey
That is part of the traditional fare
So is, corn-on-the-cob, potatoe salad, dirty rice
And a casserole of brocolli and cheese was also there

Not to mention the cornbread dressing, pinto beans with suasage and the candied
 yams
They were also there to fill the tummy
The rolls were the last thing to cook and rings of pineapple round things off as it was cooked with the
ham
There was Jeannette's homemade peanut butter fudge that ws passed down to Lacey
There were pecan tarts I-45 cake and icebox pies
We ate so much that we though we were gonna die

THEY ALL MADE YOU FEEL FULL INDEED
Everytime you turned around, there was something new to eat

I am THANKFUL for all the HANDS that prepared all of these goodies
And I will TREASURE the time I got to spend with all of YOU
NOTHING can ever shake OUR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER or DIMINISH OUR MEMORIES
I just wanted to SAY I LOVE YOU ALL and MAY GOD MAKE OUR DREAMS COME TRUE
